Search for missing teen continues
Yesterday was the third day since Tegan Quitano was reported missing and the Department of Public Safety said the search for the 15-year-old continues. It also urges community members to continue being vigilant and help report any leads on the missing person case.
Quitano has been missing since she failed to appear in school after it commenced on Tuesday. Concerned family members then reached out to the police, which led to an official search for the girl.
According to a press release from DPS, Quitano’s last known interaction was with a friend three nights ago in Kagman. Since then, several attempts to reach her via phone have gone unanswered, resulting in her not appearing in school for nearly a week.
According to witnesses Quitano was last seen wearing a black shirt and sweatpants as she went aboard an SUV in Kagman. However, witnesses were unable to provide details regarding what brand the vehicle was or its model or color.
DPS assistant chief of police and acting public information officer Simon Manacop, shared that there are currently no new updates, but they will share more information as it comes along. He said that DPS continues to urge the community to report any information that could assist in locating the missing teen.
“We are asking anyone who may have seen Tegan or had any recent contact with her to come forward,” said Manacop. “Your information could be crucial in bringing her home safely.”
Alongside the search, family members have also taken to social media for help in locating the girl. In a Facebook post, Quitano’s mother asked for the community’s help in locating her daughter, also adding that her daughter had been “in the company of Abong Camacho.” When commenting on a news network’s post she said to her daughter “Tegan, just come home. Don’t be scared. I won’t get mad. Just come home. Please.”
Since the announcement, many community members have rallied together to keep an eye out for the teen and on social media, many expressed their thoughts and prayers for the family.
