Search warrant leads to arrests, seizures in CK
After a recent burglary and theft investigation, the Department of Public Safety executed a search warrant leading to the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of various illegal items in Chalan Kanoa last Thursday.
Assistant chief of police Simon T. Manacop, who is also the acting public information officer for DPS, shared that the operation was sanctioned by Associate Judge Kenneth Govendo, who authorized the search warrant on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, around 3:50pm.
The warrant targeted the residence of Glen Sablan Palacios in Chalan Kanoa. This action was part of the ongoing investigation into a burglary and theft incident reported on July 25, 2024, at the Marianas Management Corp. office located at Joeten Superstore in San Jose.
On Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024, at approximately 12:45pm law enforcement officers carried out the search warrant at Palacios’ residence. During the search, they uncovered and seized stolen property, drugs, a firearm, and ammunition.
Following the raid, Palacios and Hope Blanco were apprehended at the scene and subsequently transported to the Department of Corrections, where they were booked and detained. Palacios faces charges of illegal possession of a controlled substance and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. Blanco has been charged with illegal possession of a controlled substance.
DPS stated that the accountability of the items seized is still underway. The Criminal Investigation Bureau continues to lead this active investigation.
