Senate confirms Deleon Guerrero’s appointment to MVA board
The Senate confirmed Friday the nomination of songwriter and singer Marvin I. Deleon Guerrero to serve as a member of the Marianas Visitors Bureau board of directors.
Eight senators voted “yes” to adopt the Senate committee report that recommended the confirmation of Deleon Guerrero’s appointment. Sen. Donald M. Manglona (Ind-Rota) was absent, but excused from the session. The report was prepared by the Senate Committee on Executive Appointments & Government Investigations.
Deleon Guerrero, who is currently the manager of Bank Pacific on Saipan, will serve a four-year term on the MVA board representing Saipan.
Deleon Guerrero holds a master’s degree in business administration from Argosy University in Honolulu, Hawaii.
EAGI Committee chair Sen. Celina R. Babauta (D-Saipan) said the nominee is also an entrepreneur and a musician.
Sen. Jude U. Hofschneider (R-Tinian) said Deleon Guerrero wears many hats and has vast experience and skills. and he appreciates Deleon Guerrero’s acceptance of his nomination to serve on the MVA board.
In nominating Deleon Guerrero, Gov. Arnold I. Palacios stated that he and Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang are confident that the nominee will be an asset to the MVA board.
