The Kliq bashes Bat Dat Ass Up, 22-5
The Kliq bashed Bat Dat Ass Up, 22-5, in the continuation of the 2024 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association Men’s Slow Pitch Open League last Sunday at the Dandan Softball Field.
The Kliq ended the game with a bang as they put up multiple runs in the last inning. They didn’t give Bat Dat Ass Up a chance to come close as they scored 14 in their final at-bat at the top of the sixth.
Heading into the sixth, it was an 8-4 game in favor of the Kliq, which still gave a small margin for Bat Dat Ass Up to catch up. But after the slugfest that was the sixth inning for The Kliq, it was all over. Only one more run would score for Bat Dat Ass up for a 22-5 final.
Bat Dat Ass Up actually had an early lead, 2-0 after the first inning from runs scored by Jesus Tyquiengco and Damien Panglinan, but The Kliq’s Jerald Cabrera put them on top in the third with a bases-clearing grand slam to make it 4-2.
Two more runs scored for The Kliq, and they were up, 6-2. Solo shots by Eli Aughenbaugh and Peter Tenorio gave The Kliq a bigger advantage, 8-2 by the fifth inning. Bat Dat Ass Up’s two runs in the fifth got them within four, 4-8, but it didn’t really matter after the explosion of runs in the last inning by The Kliq.
Aughenbaugh hit a three-run homer, followed by Josenio Alvarez and Pat Tenorio’s solo jacks, while the rest of the lineup scored on back-to-back singles and doubles that brought Bat Dat Ass Up’s pitcher—Lester Manglona—and his defense to their knees.
In other results, AB Team doused Red Torch, 10-9; Ur Balls beat Taotao Mona, 10-8; Brotherhood overpowered Team Luchan, 21-6; Blue Jays escaped Wazzup, 11-10; Pare Pack took down Aimeliik Bat Boys, 17-15; Just4Fun took down Saipal, 26-12; and Team Yayaya handed Homies their first loss, 29-19.
In the standings, only Brotherhood and Team Yayaya are still undefeated with four wins each. Homies and The Kliq are at 3-1; Wazzup, AB Team, Aimeliik Bat Boys, Bat Dat Ass Up, Ur Balls, Blue Jays, Pare Pack, and Just4Fun are 2-2 each; while Red Torch, Taotao Mona, and Saipal are 1-3 each, and Team Luchan have yet to win at four losses.
