Triple J donates $2,500 for Guam Scripps Spelling Bee
TUMON, Guam—In a significant gesture of support for education and community enrichment, Triple J Enterprises, Inc. presented a check for $2,500 to the Rotary Club of Guam, the regional partner for the 52nd Annual Guam Regional Scripps Spelling Bee, for Major Sponsorship of the 2024 Scripps Regional Spelling Bee.
Jeff Jones, president and COO of Triple J Enterprises, expressed his enthusiasm for contributing to such a valuable educational initiative, stating, “At Triple J, we believe in empowering the youth and fostering a love for language and learning. Supporting the Guam Regional Scripps Spelling Bee aligns with our commitment to educational excellence and community development.”
Erika Garrido, president of the Rotary Club of Guam, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of the Scripps National Spelling Bee in enhancing students’ language skills and vocabulary. “The Spelling Bee is not just a competition; it’s a platform that helps students improve spelling, increase vocabularies, and develop crucial language skills that last a lifetime. We are grateful for the continued support from Triple J Enterprises and all our sponsors,” Woo remarked.
The Guam Regional Scripps Spelling Bee has been a hallmark event for 52 years, providing a platform for students to showcase their linguistic prowess. In 2023, the competition featured 63 spellers from 62 schools, and this year anticipates over 70 spellers representing 70 schools from the Pacific region.

The event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency Guam. The 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee, the nation’s largest and longest-running educational program, will be held during the week of Memorial Day 2024 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.
