Umbrella group of Filipino organizations elects new officers
The United Filipino Organization-CNMI held its elections at Sun Palace in Susupe last Nov. 17.
The election was well participated by voting delegates from each UFO member organizations—Bayani Association, Bicol Association, Marianas Association of Filipino Engineers and Architects, Marianas Institute of Filipino CPAs and Accountants, Northern Mariana Bartenders Association, Santo Nino Prayer Group, Tau Gamma Phi, and incumbent UFO executive officers. A representative from Samahang Ilokano, a new member of the UFO, was also in attendance to witness the election.
Outgoing UFO president Birhen Martinez, who presided the election expressed her gratitude to members and volunteers of UFO for their continued support and dedication to the organization. According to Martinez, the election was a success, and she is positive that with the leadership of newly elected officers, the UFO will continue to remain strong in its vision and mission.
The newly elected executive officers of the United Filipino Organization-CNMI are:
Carlito Marquez – president
Edmin Elayda and Joselito Espino – vice presidents
Mildred Pabilando – secretary
Valention Cruz – treasurer
Melanie Galapon – auditor
Segundo Lapeceros – public relations officer
Marquez briefly addressed the group and humbly thanked everyone for their vote of confidence and asked for continued support to UFO under his leadership.
Induction of new member organization and installation of officers and board of directors will be held on Jan. 4, 2025. (PR)
