When in the mood for solitude (didactic doggerel from Batbon’s Brane)
“When a man knows the solitude of silence, and feels the joy of quietness he is then free from fear and sin.”—Buddha
Some feel screwed get the blues then go get tattooed
some bulk up on sweet and salty snacks and fried food
I drink watered down whiskey and get slightly stewed
then walk down to a beach where lovers are wooed
some couch potatoes stay home with eyes on TV glued
some without agoraphobia will travel and not elude
seeing Michelangelo’s marble statue David in the nude
most avoid lying politicians who act in a manner rude
or listen to those who have no moral integrity aptitude
stay away from friends who are not in a loving mood
and those who resort to troubles by taking a Quaalude
skip those online cyber sites that are most ballyhooed
don’t let the consumption of drugs and alcohol delude
walking in solitude can be your own blessed beatitude.
Listen to the words on solitude attributed to Buddha
try and avoid saying I shoulda or sure wish I woulda
try and find some time and place by yourself alone
specifically without using any TV or your cell phone
think I can and will do it daily admit I always coulda.
