World Resort holds productive meeting with CNMI gov’t

Vice chair Kiyeon Kwon of Seolhaeone Group, a principal shareholder of Saipan World Resort, went on a courtesy visit to Gov. Arnold I. Palacios and Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang.

The meeting served as an opportunity for mutual introduction and fruitful dialogue, laying the foundation for promising collaborations between the resort and the CNMI government.

During the meeting, Kwon gave a short overview of Saipan World Resort’s shareholder company and the current market trends, especially the need for the CNMI to strengthen ties with the Korean market, along with requesting enhancing infrastructure and beautifying the CNMI to create an even more appealing environment for tourists.

Palacios conveyed his administration’s commitment to collaboration with the Marianas Visitors Authority to raise awareness of the CNMI as a premier tourist destination in Korea and diversifying to other tourist markets in the region and shared various improvement projects around the islands, such as the beach road improvement project.

Kwon expressed his recognition of the CNMI as an excellent destination for the Korean market due to its unique blend of culture, tropical ambiance, and breathtaking natural beauty. The governor and Kwon shared their enthusiasm for the CNMI’s tourism industry as they discussed their plans to capitalize on these strengths.

Overall, the meeting proved to be a fruitful dialogue between the Palacios administration and Saipan World Resort, one of the major hotels on Saipan. Both the governor and Kwon expressed their desire to continue their cooperation and personal interactions to further develop the CNMI’s tourism industry going forward. (PR)
