Little League All Stars to hold Walk-a-thon
After successfully storming through the 2004 Asia-Pacific Regional Baseball Tournament, the CNMI Little League All Stars earned the right to extend their season and are scheduled to represent the Pacific Region in the prestigious Little League World Series this month.
With that, the team will be holding a Walk-a-thon Fundraiser on August 14 in hopes of raising enough funds to support their trip.
The event unfolds at 7am at the Oleai Sports complex new track and field facility.
The event would feature members of the team walking a distance of two mile on the track. Interested parties may support the team through monetary pledges.
Team CNMI recently earned their ticket to the Series by slicing past Indonesia, 4-3, in the finale of the regional tournament held in Guam last month.
The Word Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania will be held from August 20-29. Team CNMI, which plays under the International category, have been placed in Pool D, which also includes teams from Mexico and the Caribbean. Other international teams include Asia, Canada, Europe, and Latin America.
Members of the team include Philip Manalo, Alex Benevente, Keith Kintol, Eli Augenbaugh, Ofero Taitano, Cameron Ser Nicolas, Eric Tenorio, David Camacho, Donovan George, Justin Alexander, Anthony Rogolifoi, Ike Aldan, R-Jay Joe, and Anthony Tenorio.
