Expeditionary force thankful for support
For the past three weeks, the Marines and sailors of the III Marine Expeditionary Force have been conducting their semi-annual Training in an Urban Environment Exercise on the island of Guam. This training, also referred to as TRUEX, would not have been possible without the tremendous support of the community members and various organizations throughout Guam.
The III Marine Expeditionary Force would like to take this opportunity to thank some of the organizations that helped make this vital training evolution possible and successful. With strong supporters such as the Government of Guam, 3D Marine Division Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2917, Guam Police Department, Andersen Air Force Base, US Naval Forces Marianas and the people of Guam, the Marines were able to conduct each and every training evolution safely and effectively with minimum inconvenience to the local populace.
Special thanks should be given to everyone at the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station for all their assistance in making our stay here enjoyable and productive. They helped provide all the Marines and sailors with lodging, communications assets, training venues and a host of other essentials to ensure safe and productive training.
With the training completed here on Guam, the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit of III MEF was able to achieve quality training that may be used in future deployments and is better able to stand by its commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region. (PR)
