KINGFISHERS’ PTA MEETING, OPEN HOUSE TODAY

The William S. Reyes Elementary School will have its Parents-Teachers Association meeting and open house today, Aug. 10, beginning at 5:30pm.

The elementary school said that it would use the occasion to introduce the faculty and staff to the parents as well as discuss the most pressing issues that face the school and students.

The PTA meeting and open house will also see WSR distribute its school calendar and its student/parent handbook.

The PTA meeting will be held at the WSR cafeteria

NMC MATH PLACEMENT TEST TODAY

The math placement test for the Fall 2004 enrollment at the Northern Marianas College will have its last session today, Aug. 10, at Room D-1, 10am-12pm.

Those who will take the exam are advised to bring a picture ID (should be of acceptable quality as it is needed to be entered into the system); pen/pencils; driver’s license; passport; other school picture ID; and CNMI immigration card.

Test takers can also bring a calculator but this is optional and may not be shared with other test-takers.

GTC ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTA MEETING TOMORROW

The Parents-Teachers Association president of the Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School is informing parents and guardians of its students that they will have their first PTA//Parents’ Night tomorrow, Aug. 11, at 6pm.

“We encourage all parents/guardians to come meet your children’s teachers and be informed of what your children are expected to learn for the school year at the grade level they’re in,” the school said in a statement.

HJHS TO HOLD PTSA MEETING

Hopwood Junior High School will be having its first Parents-Teachers-Students Association meeting for the 2004-05 school year this Thursday, Aug. 12, 6-7pm in the school’s cafeteria.

HEAD START ORIENTATION SCHEDULE OUT

The Head Start Program is scheduled to open for orientation on August 12 and 13, 2004. Teachers are currently contacting parents/guardians about their child’s scheduled orientation dates and times. Should parents/guardian’s not have a contact number visit or call your child’s center or the main office on Capitol Hill to obtain your schedule. During the orientation, please allow for at least two to three hours of your time to be spent with your child and teacher. ST. REMEDIOS SCHOOL OPENING

The St. Remedios Early Childhood Development Center School has announced its opening dates.

Three-year-old students will have their first day of school on Wednesday, Aug. 18. School for 4-year-olds will begin the next day, Thursday, Aug. 19, while 5-year-olds will have their opening on Friday, Aug. 20.

On Aug. 23, Monday, all students of St. Remedios will all come to school. Students should come to school before 7:30am and parents are requested to pick up their children no later than noon.
