Little League All Stars Walk-a-thon this Saturday
After successfully storming through the 2004 Asia-Pacific Regional Baseball Tournament, the CNMI Little League All Stars earned the right to extend their season and are scheduled to represent the Pacific Region in the prestigious Little League World Series this month.
With that, the team will be holding a Walk-a-thon Fundraiser on August 14 in hopes of raising enough funds to support their trip.
The event unfolds at 7am at the Oleai Sports complex new track and field facility.
The event would feature members of the team walking a distance of two mile on the track. Interested parties may support the team through monetary pledges.
Team CNMI recently earned their ticket to the Series by slicing past Indonesia, 4-3, in the finale of the regional tournament held in Guam last month.
For more information on the fundraiser, contact Brien Sers Nicolas at 235-7190 or Patrick Tenorio at 287-2900.
Point Break Series Challenge at PIC
Two rounds down and three to go in the Point Break Series Challenge at the Pacific Islands Club, and no matter how much water flows through the park, the competition continues to heat up. If you haven’t yet been down to try the Flow Rider at the PIC, you can still compete on August 14 and 28, and September 11.
There are singles, doubles and big trick competitions throughout the tri-month series that is sponsored in part by Coca Cola. Men and women will be grouped into age divisions 12-and-under, 13-17, 18-34, and 35-and-over, and there are still some openings available.
To be a part of all of the action, venture down PIC information counter and pick up an entry form. It’s only $10 to enter one any one of the events, but $30 will grant you access to all five surf-off’s, special discounts, and PIC facility privileges.
For more information, please contact Nan Intharaluk, Evan Hunsberger, Curtis Wilson, or Cole Pritchard by calling 235-6231 extension 5147 or 5148.
