What on earth am I here for? You are not an accident! You were created by God for five specific purposes, and until you understand them, life will not make sense.
Cornerstone Christian Church is starting a new campaign, 40 Days of Purpose, to answer these questions. The church will have its launching service on Aug. 15, 5:30pm, at the Cornerstone Christian Church on As Perdido Road.
“We would like to invite everyone to join us,” the church said in a statement. “Come join us; there is no cost.”
The campaign consists of seven weeks of Sunday services, six weeks of small group video lectures with discussion, and daily reading of the bestseller, The Purpose Driven Life by Dr. Rick Warren.
Interested individuals who attend the church’s launching service on Aug. 15 will be given a copy of the book The Purpose Driven Life, and assigned to a small group meeting one weeknight near one’s home.
In these groups, participants will be watching a series of six video lectures by Warren that answers life’s most fundamental question: “What is the purpose of my life?” After the videos, group leaders will be available to lead discussions and answer any questions anyone may have.
Sunday services will be held at the following times, with the weekly topics:
Aug. 15, 2004 – What on earth am I here for? 5:30pm
Aug. 22, 2004 – You were planned for God’s pleasure 10am 5:30pm
Aug. 29, 2004 – You were formed for God’s family 10am 5:30pm
Sept. 5, 2004 – You were created to become like Christ 10am 5:30pm
Sept. 12, 2004 – You were shaped for serving God 10am 5:30pm
Sept. 19, 2004 – You were made for a mission 10am 5:30pm
Sept. 26, 2004 – Celebration Sunday 5:30pm
“Will you commit 40 days to discover God’s purpose for your life? If you are interested, please join us for the launching service on Aug. 15,” the statement adds.
