KIDNAPPING CHARGES FILED VS MAN

A 54-year-old man is facing criminal charges for confining a woman at an undisclosed place on Saipan against her will.

The suspect, Mariano M. Armenta, also allegedly attacked the woman while she was under confinement last Aug. 11.

CNMI chief prosecutor David Hutton said the woman’s confinement was for “a substantial period to inflict bodily injury on or to terrorize the victim.”

Hutton filed with the Superior Court charges of kidnapping, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace against Armenta.

ANOTHER BURGLARY CASE REPORTED

Authorities disclosed solving another burglary case, identifying the suspect responsible for stealing jewelry from an establishment in Chalan Kanoa.

Lawmen identified the suspect as Hilario Tegita Angui, 21. He allegedly entered the premises of one Yun Kee Park to steal valuable items.

CNMI chief prosecutor David Hutton said Angui managed to steal a set of jewelry worth some $3,000.

The prosecutor lodged burglary and theft charges against Angui in a case he filed at the Superior Court yesterday.
