Public schools update

Education Commissioner Rita H. Inos and Saipan Southern High School principal Peter Le’au said that Saipan Southern High School is now fit for reopening and classes will resume today, August 27th.

To date the following schools are opened:

* Tinian Jr. Sr. High School, which reopened on Aug. 25; and

* Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School in San Roque, which reopened Aug.

The remaining schools on all three islands are expected to open Monday, Aug. 30, providing that CUC restores power and water. PSS staff and teachers are encouraged to contact their schools directly. Parents and students are encouraged to contact the schools or the Commissioner’s Office at 664-3700 and 664-3770 or the Board of Education Office at 664-3727 for updated information on the remaining schools.
