FINAL PIC POINT BREAK SERIES CHALLENGE ON SEPT. 11

Four rounds down and one to go in the Point Break Series Challenge at the Pacific Islands Club, and no matter how much water flows through the park, the competition continues to heat up. If you haven’t yet been down to try the Flow Rider at the PIC, you can still compete in the final event on Sept. 11.

There are singles, doubles and big trick competitions throughout the tri-month series that is sponsored in part by Coca Cola. Men and women will be grouped into age divisions 12-and-under, 13-17, 18-34, and 35-and-over, and there are still some openings available.

To be a part of all of the action, venture down PIC information counter and pick up an entry form. It’s only $10 to enter one any one of the event, and you will also gain access to special discounts and PIC facility privileges.

SAIPAN FISHING TOURNEY ON SEPT. 11-12

The 20th Annual Saipan International Fishing Tournament will be held on Sept. 11 and 12, and boats from Guam, Palau, Rota, and Tinian are expected to grace the two-day fishing tourney.

The top three ranks will be awarded in the following game fish categories: Bill fish, yellow fin, wahoo, mahi mahi, and skip jack. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first participant to land a marlin weighing over 624.34 lbs. and a yellow fin tuna weighing over 106 lbs.

Applications for the event, containing the rules and schedules of the event will soon be available at the Marianas Visitors Authority and the Fishing Tackle Shop.
