Pacific Trading loses $36K in burglary
Authorities are currently investigating a burglary and theft incident that resulted in the Pacific Trading Co. losing thousands of dollars in cash and checks.
PTC later revealed that the suspect(s) managed to get away with approximately $36,000 due to the incident.
According to NMI Crime Stoppers, patrol officers were dispatched to the establishment early Monday morning after receiving a report that it had been burglarized. The report was placed at about 6:58am.
“The operational manager of [PTC] called [the Department of Public Safety] and reported a burglary and theft incident. Patrol officers arrived at the scene and later learned that the office assigned to the general manager was burglarized,” said Crime Stoppers detective Eric David.
Police have yet to identified how many suspects were involved in the incident.
David indicated that investigation conducted by the responding officers revealed that the suspect(s) entered the establishment through the rooftop by cutting the roof open.
“They [suspects] made their way to the general manager’s office from the ceiling, passing through the alarm systems,” he said.
David said the suspect(s) then broke into the safe room and managed to gain entry to one of the safes.
The incident has been tagged as the Crime Stoppers’ Crime of the Week for Sept. 6-10.

The group also paid out over $8,300 in cash rewards and recovered some $197,793 in stolen properties. Through its efforts, the anti-crime group also helped in the recovery of $2.4 million worth of narcotics.
Crime Stoppers pays up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest. Caller ID is not used and all calls remain anonymous.
