The 2004 Saipan Rotary Club Summer Youth Basketball League returns with its regular doubleheader on Monday, Sept. 13, at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.

League organizers said they would go along with the original schedule for Monday through Wednesday. Rotary will come out with a revised schedule later next week.

Monday’s first game at 5:30pm features a battle of cellar dwellers, as the women’s Jr. National Team (0-5) goes up against 69ers II (0-5). The second game, set to begin at 7pm, pits Sparks (3-3) opposite Mackos (5-1).

Tuesday’s match-ups will then have Garapan Rollers I (5-1) facing sister-team Garapan Rollers III (0-5) in the curtain raiser. The nightcap will showcase Garapan Rollers II (1-4) and the Chalan Kanoa Saints (2-3).

Only one game is scheduled for Wednesday and it will see the CK Saints bumping heads with the G-Rollers III.

The sound of Rotary players in their basketball sneakers crisscrossing the court and referees blowing on their whistles were last heard last Aug. 23. The next day, Ada Gym officials and league organizers decided to cancel games as the venue was used as a temporary evacuation center for families displaced by typhoons that ravaged Saipan earlier in the week.

Other leagues that went on hiatus were the 2004 Inter-Restaurant Basketball League and the 2004 UFO-San Miguel Cup.
