Sports headlines were dominated by news of facilities being rehabilitated and leagues planning to get back into action.

Only one sport managed to avoid the ravages caused by the weather, as bowling hogged the headlines last week.

Raymond Zapanta was a force of nature in winning the Philippine Bowling Association Bowler of the Year Tournament held at the Saipan Bowling Center.

The 17-year-old Kagman High School student held off all comers in winning the prestigious tournament usually dominated by older, more seasoned keglers.

Mark Halstead, John Rimirch, and Jun Villas also took home championships in the Class A, B, and C categories, respectively. Meanwhile, Fun & Game capped the crown in the team division.
