Williams tucks fourth Pepsi win
Emi Williams proved once again that she is indeed the undisputed queen of the Pepsi King of the Lanes Tenpin Bowling Tournament after bagging the October title last Monday at the Capital Bowling Center.
It was the fourth monthly plum for the soft-spoken Williams, who had to beat first day leader and eventual runner-up Mishel Pacheco for the plum.
Williams went on to bowl a 695 for a 173.75 pins per game average in the four-game series. She had games of 170, 210, 154, and 161.
Pacheco, for her part, knocked down 685 pins Sunday and went on to average 171.25. She bowled a series of 182, 171, 154, and 178. Cora Muna bagged third place with her 650 total and 162.5 average she bowled also Sunday. Muna had games of 121, 147, 169, and 213.
Williams pocketed $50 for the win, while Pacheco and Muna went home with $25 and $15, respectively.
Ron Cal and Elena Soll completed the Top 5 with overall pinfalls of 649 (162.25 average) and 635 (158.75).
The rest of the top 10, with their scores in parenthesis, were as follows: Becky Reyes (608); Diane Babauta (601); Vicky Cepeda (582); Carol A. McKenzie (568); and Lala Taitano (565).
The October Pepsi King of the Lanes Tournament attracted a total of 73 entries. The monthly bowling competition is organized by the SBA and is sponsored by PTC. It will culminate with a season-ending championship tournament in January.
