Recycling campaign heats up

Gov. Juan N. Babauta will be signing the America Recycles Day proclamation on Monday, Nov. 15, during which he will also hand out prizes and awards to the student winners in the CNMI Recycling Contest.

The event, to be held at 10am at the Department of Public Works’ Solid Waste Management Division-Lower Base Refuse Transfer Station on Pagu Ave., will have Catherine Anderson as facilitator.

One of the following individuals will give a brief presentation:

* Steve Hiney, Program manager, DPW-SWMD; or
* Robert Jordan, Environmental Planner, DPW-SWMD; or
* Enrique Dela Cruz, Waste Diversion Coord., DPW-SWMD.

Coral Outreach Specialist Qamar Schuyler of the CRM/DEQ/DFW will introduce a newly formed group called the CNMI Organization for Conservation Outreach.
