Burglars wanted by police
The NMI Crime Stoppers is currently seeking tips related to a burglary incident reported last Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Obyan Beach parking lot.
According to Crime Stoppers coordinator PO2. Eric F. David, a group of divers parked their vehicles at the lot at about 12:30pm before going on a 40-minute scuba diving trip off the reef of the beach.
At about 1:10pm, the group returned to the lot and discovered the theft.
“They found out that their belongings have been stolen,” David said.
Missing items included five digital cameras, military identification cards, five carry-on black bags, a dive log worth $300, and numerous credit cards. Also missing were a total of $1,200 cash and $2,500 worth of Japanese yen.
The incident has been classified as Crime Stoppers’ Crime of the Week for Nov. 15-19.
