The week’s hoopla began with the start of the 3rd Annual Pacific Rim Youth Goodwill Tournament Sunday and ended with Saipan ruling the roost in the basketball competition and Marshall Islands taking home the first-place trophies in volleyball Friday.

In between, Raymond Zapanta crowned himself ABC Classified Tournament Class A champion, Zheng Jian Qing ruled the Monday 9-Ball Tournament at Corner Pocket, Freedom Air continued their perfect run in the Saipan Softball Association 2004 Slow Pitch Softball League, and Flush It!, Bend It Like Megan, and Sleezy Lambleezies maintained their positions atop the standings of the 6th Annual Miller Lite 4-Person Beach Volleyball, and

A day before PACRIM got underway, Verizon Nitro surprised Miller Barbarians in the playoffs of the 2004 Commonwealth Football League at the CPA Airport Field. Over at Marpi, the future stars of triathlon in the islands displayed “strong work” in the final Kids TRYathlon of the year.
