How would bridge benefit NMI?
The idea of a bridge to Tinian is great but I fail to see how it would benefit our economy. Now, if we were next door to Guam that might be a different matter…
The seas between Saipan and Tinian are very rough and our area is very prone to typhoons and tropical storms. I don’t see how the government can afford this if they can’t even afford to fix the Beach Road pathway that was damaged in the last typhoon. I fail to see how a bridge would attract investors and tourists anyhow.
On a different subject, TSA telling people they can’t say the word “bomb” in the area of the airport infringes on our constitutional guarantee of freedom of speech. What if you told authorities that someone else had a bomb; could you also be arrested. The whole scenario is laughable, like the scene in “Meet The Parents” where Ben Stiller is told he shouldn’t mention the word “bomb” on an airplane:
Norm: You threatened that stewardess with a bomb!
Greg Focker: No, I said I didn’t have a bomb.
Norm: But you said bomb!
Greg Focker: What is wrong with saying bomb on an airplane?
Norm: You can’t say bomb on an airplane.
Greg Focker: Bomb bomb bomb bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb bomb bomb! During the war I was a BOMBadier.
Peace,
