Organizers of the 2004 Government Basketball League have set an emergency meeting at 10am today at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium conference room.

Issues to be discussed during the meeting are the problems currently besetting the basketball competition for the Commonwealth’s public servants.

League official Joey Dela Cruz said the protest of teams questioning the eligibility of some players would be the first item in the agenda. The meeting also seeks to finally clear the air about the league’s eligibility requirements, as well as put on the calendar make-up games that were affected by lack of referees and scheduling snafus the past two months.

For more information about the government league and the meeting this morning, contact Basketball Association of the Northern Mariana Islands president Mike Muna at 664-3582 or the Division of Sports and Recreation at 664-2503 or 664-2508.
