A vehicle sustained damage to its right front portion after swerving off the road and landing in a drainage yesterday afternoon by the Sugar King Park in China Town.

According to the male driver of the four-door brown Mitsubishi Mirage, he was heading north along the outer lane of Chalan Pale Arnold Road when swerved to avoid colliding with an oncoming vehicle.

The driver sustained no injuries and was traveling with two female passengers. One of the passenger complained of pain on her head and was attended to by medics.

The mishap occurred by the intersection leading to Gold’s Gym.

The responding police officer confirmed the incident and indicated that no collision took place.

The other vehicle, a two-door red Hyundai Scoupe, was reportedly heading south and took a left turn at the intersection.

Preliminary investigation is still ongoing and police are still determining who was at fault.

The mishap was reported to the Department of Public Safety at about 5:27pm and delayed traffic as passersby looked on from their moving vehicles.
