Navy to receive Guam resolution
SANTA RITA, Guam—The U.S. Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station on Guam will be presented a 28th Guam Legislature resolution today, Feb. 20, at 6:30pm, at Lencho Park behind the Dededo Mayor’s Office.
The command is being recognized for its continued partnership with its sister village of Dededo and Guam. In the past year alone, the command’s officers and sailors tutored students during the Saturday scholars program; cleaned up several schools, highways and beaches; volunteered as coaches, referees and umpires for youth sports leagues; and assisted non-profit organizations, such as the American Red Cross, Salvation Army of Guam, and Guam Animals In Need, just to name a few.
“We will continue to support the Dededo community for various Project Good Neighbor,” said Lt. Cmdr. Marianna Magno, the command’s executive officer. “It is an honor to be part of this fine community.”
Guam Legislature Vice Speaker Joanne Brown will conduct the presentation. Navy representation will include Cmdr. Jon T. Kennedy, commanding officer of NCTS, and Magno.
NCTS Guam’s mission is to provide communications support, under the guidance of Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Pacific, for the command and control of operating forces afloat and ashore in the Western Pacific and Indian Ocean.
