New Filipino pastor at Immanuel Methodist Church
The Immanuel Methodist Church has welcomed a new Filipino pastor to serve its growing Filipino congregation.
Rev. James Santiago L. Sembrano arrived on Saipan last Jan. 9. He is an ordained elder of the United Methodist Church, Philippine Central Conference.
Rev. Sembrano finished college at Wesleyan University in 1974 with is a degree in AB Political Science. Sembrano also graduated Master of Arts in Educational Management in 1981, Master of Divinity at Union Theological Seminary, Dasmarinas, Cavite, in 1980, Doctor of Ministry at Philipppine Christian University, Manila in 1992.
He served the United Methodist Church in the Philippines for 39 years, 15 years of which was under Special Epescopal Appointment beyond the local church as full-time professor at the Philippine Christian University and Union Theological Seminary in Dasmarinas, Cavite.
Senior Pastor Rev. Myung Taek Lee, a Korean Methodist Missionary to Saipan, sponsored the first Filipino Methodist Congregation under the auspices of Immanuel Methodist Mission Church.
The Immanuel Methodist Church’s Filipino Worship Service is held Sundays from 8am to 9am. It is followed by an hour-long Sunday School beginning at 9:30am, preceded by home visitations from 2pm to 6pm.
Wednesday from 8pm to 9:30pm is reserved for Prayer Meeting & Bible Study and Saturday from 7:30pm to 9:30 pm is choir practice.
Pastoral counseling is scheduled from Mondays to Fridays 9am to 11:30am, 3pm to 4:30pm at the Pastoral House in Adobu St., Koblerville.
