Coca-Cola and Subway will be the lead sponsors for this year’s 2005 American Red Cross Walkathon.

“We are pleased that Coke and Subway have stepped up this year and provided considerable financial support as well as donated drinks and sandwiches. Coke and Subway are both companies with a long history of supporting community events such as the Walkathon” said chapter executive director John Hirsh.

This year’s event will take place on March 19, at 6am at the Kilili Beach Park.

For every $15 raised, the walkers will receive a T-shirt and other giveaways. There will also be prizes for the most walkers from a school or business as well as monies raised.

In addition there will be a health fare with booths sponsored by the Department of Public Health, NMC CREES and other local businesses and agencies.

“Dust off your walking shoes and join the fun,” Hirsh said..
