Many remember Tracy Del Rosario when she outwitted other hopefuls and won the hearts of pageant judges en route to winning the 2004 Miss CNMI World tiara.

But what many don’t know is that her success did not end after her reign. Del Rosario pursued her studies at the Northern Marianas College, where she is expected to graduate with an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts this May 2005.

Del Rosario recently proved she’s not only beauty but also brains when she made it to The National Dean’s List®, one of the highest academic honors that could be given to college students.

She was selected to receive recognition by having her biography published in the 28th Annual Edition of The National Dean’s List® for 2004 and 2005. Del Rosario is also automatically eligible to compete for a $1,000 scholarship from the $50,000 set to be awarded this year to deserving college students.

The National Dean’s List® remains the largest, most prestigious publication in the country recognizing gifted students selected by their deans, faculty members, or other educational organizations. Each year 2,500 of our nation’s finest colleges and universities use the publication as a special award to honor their best students.

In addition to the nomination to the publication, Del Rosario was invited to use the Student Referral Service, a valuable reference service for students, who wish to apply to graduate school or for an employment.

Parke H. Davis, chairman for national academic affairs said that only 1/2 of 1 percent of the nation’s college students receive this award. “We commend you for your accomplishments,” said Davis.

Del Rosario has garnered several accomplishments at a very young age. These achievements include active participation in various community service events organized and sponsored by the Division of Youth Services, Marianas Visitors Authority, Domestic Violence Task Force, American Red Cross Saipan Chapter, and others.

The former beauty queen will pursue a dual Bachelors Degree in Elementary & Special Education at the University of Hawaii at Manoa this coming Fall 2005.
