Just a few days after the Island Wide Volleyball League wrapped up its regular season slate, league organizers have released a list of games to be made up this week to officially usher in the playoffs.

The Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium will host the first of the make-up games tomorrow evening at 6:30pm as the Chuukanos (8-5) and the Managaha Chiefs (11-3) look to close out the season on a positive note. The pair of teams is already assured of a slot in the postseason, as the Chiefs are currently in third place with an opportunity for advancement, while the Chuukanos will remain in fourth regardless of the outcome.

The final two games of the regular season action takes place two days later on Wednesday, March 16, when the Chiefs return to the courts to challenge first place No Fear (13-2) at 6:30pm. If the Chiefs can finish off their final two games with a pair of wins, they can force a one-game playoff with No Fear for the pennant.

The Chuukanos lace up their leaping shoes again for their second make-up in the 7:30pm game when they play the NMC Proa in the season finale. If the Proa win the game, it will force a deciding contest to determine the fifth and sixth seeds in the playoffs.

The top eight teams will advance to the postseason in the men’s division, but only the top six women’s teams secured a slot two months ago. Pikan Gaga (10-1) landed the top spot in the playoffs when they dominated the regular season schedule, and they will reap the rewards of playing the lowest seeded T-8 (3-8) on Tuesday, March 21 a 6pm, while the regular season runner-up She Devils (9-2) take on the Hitters (3-8) at 7:30pm. The first round of the women’s division comes to a close on Wednesday, March 23, at 6pm when the third seeded Dragons (7-4) battle No. 4 Bootylicious (5-6) at 6pm.
