Parents and students of Hopwood Junior High School will gather together on Friday for a fundraising event dubbed as “Family Fun Night,” which promises to be a night of fun and entertainment.

Hopwood vice principal Beth Nepaial said the event is an opportunity for the parents to have fun with their children and the event will assuredly be fun for everyone.

“Family Fun Night” would be held on the school grounds, from 4:30pm to 10:30pm. Entrance is for free.

The event, according to the organizers, is a Public School System-sanctioned fundraising activity that promotes family involvement, good food, entertainment, and so much more.

Nepaial said that the school grounds at Hopwood would be transformed into a mini-carnival, with booths and rides for the entire school and community members to enjoy. Vendors and concessionaires have been invited to participate in this event.

Among the booths featured at the event are the Jail, the Water Dunking booth, Jumping Balloons, and Balloon Popping booth, among others.

The activity is a fundraising event of the HJHS Parents, Teachers and Students Association.

Rose Pedersen, 7th grade Mathematics teacher and treasurer of HJHS-PTSA, said this is the first time the school is sponsoring such an event.

Pedersen said the general public, especially the parents and their children, are invited to the Family Fun Night.

She said the whole family would enjoy the delicious food, great games and entertainment that would be worth everybody’s time and money.

She said there will also be presentations from invited guests and Hopwood students all night long.
