Belated signs of being busy

Wow! Did you notice the publicity about legislations being passed left and right? It looks like everybody in the Legislature is digging up all backlogs and trying to push the bills that they have been sitting on for months and months. They know that the voters will take an accounting of every legislator’s performance during the height of the campaign period so it looks like everybody has woken up after a long period of hibernation. The trick is for us to take note when the bill was submitted and compare it with the date it was deliberated on and passed. You can see the long period of time the legislators waited before they even deliberated on very important issues, hoping to use them for political reasons. Can we be fooled? It won’t work.

I hope it’s election time everyday because only during this time are the legislators awake and working. I guess Rep. Clyde Norita is right after all. We must pursue the passing of that bill making the legislature part-time. An additional eight-hour sleep in the Legislature for two or four more years, as the case maybe, is bad for their health. Too much sleep is bad for their health, as it is for the island.
