Council lauds OES employees of the year

The 8th Saipan and Northern Mariana Islands Municipal Council adopted a series of resolutions congratulating Oleai Elementary School 2004 employees of the year Elisa Bemar Sabino, Tracy Lynn D. Del Rosario, and Edward Suzuki.

Sabino won the 2004 Oleai Elementary School Teacher of the Year. She is a 5th grade classroom teacher and has been with PSS for five years.

Del Rosario captured the 2004 Oleai Elementary School Teacher Aide of the Year, while Suzuki is the 2004 Oleai Elementary School Support Staff of the Year. Suzuki works with the building maintenance department of the school and has been with OES for two years.

Outstanding employee candidates were reviewed and selected by three separate panels of judges.

In the 2004 Teachers of the Year award that Sabino won, the panel of judges were Esther Fleming, former member, Board of Education; Faith Dela Rosa, principal, Grace Christian Academy; Joe Ayuyu, president and owner, McDonald’s Saipan; Maria H. Aguon, program coordinator, Pacific Islands Club; Geri Willis, director of education, Northern Marianas College; and Arden Smith, principal, Saipan Community School.

In the support staff of the year award that Del Rosario took home, the panel of judges were Maggie Sablan, executive director, CNMI Museum of History and Culture; Scott Norman, principal, Calvary Christian Academy; and Jean Olopai, center coordinator and program specialist, Pacific Resources for Education and Learning.

The members of the Municipal Council said together with the people of the CNMI, they are extremely proud of the outstanding performances of Sabino, Del Rosario, and Suzuki.

The resolutions were certified by municipal council chair Gregorio V. Deleon Guerrero, vice chair David A. Indalecio, and attested by secretary Antonia M. Tudela. (PR)
