Danny Peter of SKN is currently having a phenomenal season in the ongoing World Organized Rocball High School League.

Peter’s squad finished the regular season on top of the team standings with a 5-2 win-loss card, earning a ticket to the best-of-five championship series scheduled to get underway this Monday at the Marianas High School Gymnasium.

Peter has been quite the scoring machine for SKN, hurting the ball for seven aces, two xunks, and 18 kees for a league-best 54 points, earning him the regular season heavy hitter title. His 18 kees were also best in the league.

Others posting notable performances in the regular season were hard-hitters Shane Yamada and Darrel Moteiso of Bwibwi and Darrel Roligat of Mwaliyas.

Yamada and Moteiso are the driving force behind Bwibwi, which had an up-and-down season and finished the regular round with a 3-4 card. Yamada was dominant from the service area, pounding 18 aces, while Moteiso had a league-best three goals.

Meanwhile, Roligat got his name in the leader board after hitting three xunks, the most recorded by a player this regular season.

Last Tuesday, Roligat shone for his squad in a do-or-die playoff match against Ochobu, leading his team to a 56-44 victory on o-kon with 11 points on an ace, a xunk, two kees, and a goal. The win enabled Mwaliyas to secure the final championship series slot.

Rocball was created in 1979 by current MHS teacher Jim Feger. In 1983, the sport evolved into a tournament and was first played at Hopwood Junior High School.
