Police recorded some 17 vehicular accidents last weekend, including one wherein a vehicle struck and injured a 12-year-old girl.

But Department of Public Safety spokesman Eric David said that the girl had already been released from the hospital, saying that she only sustained minor injuries on the leg and face. David said the girl remained conscious after the incident.

Citing witnesses’ accounts, David said that a white vehicle struck the girl last Sunday near the Orchids Safeway Laundromat in Garapan.

He said the vehicle fled the scene after hitting the girl and headed toward Middle Road.
