A night of cultural exchange for CNMI women
“Women of the CNMI: Forging harmony and bridging cultures” is this year’s theme for the 17th Annual Women’s History Month celebration on the island.
The month-long celebration, recognizing the contributions of all women not only in the CNMI but all over the world, would culminate with an International Cultural Night on March 31.
The CNMI Office of Women’s Affairs, under the Office of the Governor, will sponsor the event and is inviting the public for a gathering of women from different cultures to share their cultural values, traditional dances, songs and food. The festivity will be held at the Street Market Garapan from 6pm to 10 pm.
The Women’s Affairs Office said that the International Women’s Day celebration would feature exotic cuisines, music, cultural dance and traditional attires to be presented by various ethnic groups residing on the island.
The office is also inviting everyone to a workshop on “Finance and Investment Opportunities.”
The organization has invited representatives from the banking industry, Commonwealth Development Authority and Northern Marianas College’s Business Incubator to speak regarding their services and programs available at their respective company.
The workshop aims to assist women who are interested either in starting a business or expanding their current businesses to meet their clients’ or future customers’ needs.
The Women’s Affairs office is encouraging everyone to take advantage of this seminar. For more information, contact Sophie M. Fejeran at 664-2293 to 95.
