No Mercy, Breakers lead divisions
No Mercy and Breakers continued to lord it over their respective divisions in the 2004 Spring Season of the Tuesday and Wednesday editions of the Budweiser CNMI Billiards League.
Last Wednesday, the players of Leche Boys (46 points) left the venue at Corner Pocket with a sour taste in their mouths after absorbing a 9-2 beating at the hands of No Mercy.
The win over Leche Boys ran up No Mercy’s point total to 68 as the competition in the Wednesday Night Bud Light League concluded its fifth week.
Second place The Hunks, meanwhile, continued its frenzied pursuit of No Mercy pulling within two points of the leader by out-muscling Stern Thrusters (44), 10-3, also at Corner Pocket.
A point behind The Hunks with 65 points is the Destroyers, who also kept pace after a 10-0 clobbering of Phantom II (0) at Club Chicago.
Phantom I (0) is faring no better than its sister team, as it simply cannot spook Pool Junkies, which exorcised them via a 10-0 whipping at Da Place to solidify its hold of fourth place.
Los Cabo’s (57) continued the night’s theme of shutout wins, this time putting the manacles on the Da X Terminators (0), 10-0, at Club USSP.
Breakers, for its part, kept the top ranking in the Tuesday Night Bud Light League when it edged Sang & The Gang (31), 7-6, at the Da Place. The win gave Breakers 62 points for the season.
Marines I made itself much bigger on the rearview mirror of Breakers after taming Team Cat (36). Its 9-2 win at Club USSP gave the Few and the Proud 57 points entering Week 6.
Third place Ballers had problems inflating itself and fell to Marines II (44), 3-8, at Corner Pocket, giving it 50 for the season.
Wednesday league pacesetter No Mercy is made up of pool sharks Senen Pangilinan, Joey Lucido, Rowell Mariano, Primo Rivera, and Erwin Gomez, while Breakers has a roster that includes Ray Basa, Frank Pangelinan, Jeffery Robinson, Tripler Dela Cruz, and Patrick Cepeda.
