On Saturday morning, March 19, 2005 at approximately 12:30am, the victim, a female caucasian, was outside of the Nang Ocha Store in San Vicente using the payphone. The victim stated that she noticed three male individuals hanging out by the stairs to the Nang Ocha Apartments. Two of the individuals were described to be in their late teens or early 20s, the third individual looked to be much older.

The victim described one of the younger individuals as wearing a dark green or dark blue shirt with yellow or white printings on the back. He was also wearing a military-type bush cap with chinstraps. His height was estimated to be between 5’4” to 5’6”. The victim further stated that she did not pay much attention to them because she had seen them there in the past when she was using the phone.

While on the phone, the victim was approached by one of the younger individuals several times asking for cigarettes. The victim indicated that the two younger individuals kept walking in and out of the Yan Ji Poker establishment.

She did not notice the third older individual in the area any longer. The two younger individuals then walked towards the northern portion of the apartments leading her to believe that they had left.

As she was hanging up the phone one of the younger individuals, wearing the greenish shirt with the military bush hat, ran by her and grabbed her backpack that she had placed on a bench next to her while talking on the phone. The individual ran south around the Nang Ocha Apartments and up the road heading to the Stanford Hotel. The victim ran after the individual but lost sight of him as he ran up the road toward the Stanford Hotel.

The victim described her backpack as, black with red reflector. Inside her backpack she had approximately $500 cash, credit cards, driver’s license, address book, and other personal items.
