In celebration of the 17th International Women’s Day, women will take charge and ethnic performances will take center stage at tonight’s Garapan Street Market.

Entertainment kicks off with a pageant of traditional ethnic costumes at 6:20pm. Immediately following, representatives of the following ethnic groups will present back-to-back cultural performances under the theme “Forging Harmony and Bridging Cultures”: Japanese, Russian, Samoan, Chamorro, Carolinian, Filipino, Palauan, Hawaiian, and Tahitian.

The evening’s show will be emceed by Miss CNMI World Tracy Del Rosario and Special Assistant for Military and Veterans Affairs Ruth Coleman.

The event is spearheaded by the Women’s Affairs Office, in conjunction with the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs and other agencies.

The Garapan Street Market is held every Thursday from 6pm to 10pm at American Memorial Park and offers a wide selection of foods, imported and local crafts, novelties and free live entertainment.
