The Emergency Management Office, in conjunction with the Nation Weather Service on Tiyan, Guam, has cancelled the high surf advisory it issued Monday but warned that another round of hazardous surf is possible later this week.

In a statement issued yesterday, EMO said that the east swell generated by persistent trade winds has fallen below hazardous levels, prompting the cancellation of the high surf advisory as of 4am.

It added, though, that surf may rise again later in the week and advised all beachgoers, fishermen, divers, swimmers, tourists and marine tour operators to continue exercising caution along exposed beaches and reef, especially if the surf rises to hazardous levels again.
