Lynn Teregeyo took home her second Pepsi Queen of the Lanes Tenpin Bowling Tournament title of the year Monday at the Saipan Bowling Center in San Jose.

Teregeyo eclipsed first-day leader Rizza Hensley’s 660 total by rolling a 669 Monday night to add the April tournament tiara to the championship she won in the ladies division of the Saipan Bowling Association-organized event’s January tilt.

“What was the secret of my win? I don’t know I just bowl regularly and I would like to thank my family for supporting me,” she said.

Teregeyo had an ordinary first two games with 153 and 155 but she kicked it up to another level in her third and fourth trips to the wooden lanes, toppling 171 and 190 in the third and fourth games to wind up with a 167.25 pinfall average.

Hensley had to settle for second place with her 165-pinfall average. She started out strong with her 170 and finished stronger with her 189. The only problem was the middle games, where she rolled a 154 and a 147.

Becky Reyes came in third sporting a 657 total and 164.25 average. She had a rollercoaster four-game series of 184, 150, 172, and 151 Monday.

Ron Cal and Lala Taitano close out the top five with scores of 655 and 651, respectively. Cal strung up scores of 156, 179, 169, and 151, while Taitano rolled 154, 176, 168, and 153. Both bowlers rolled off Monday.

All save for Taitano received cash prizes with Teregeyo taking home $50, Hensley $35, Reyes $20, and Cal $15.

The April Pepsi Queen of the Lanes Tournament, and its accompanying King of the Lanes Tournament, drew a total of 86 entries. The monthly bowling competition is sponsored by Pacific Trading Company and organized by SBA. It culminates with a season-ending championship tournament at the end of the season.
