FedEX partners with MITA
CTSI Logistics and FedEx, local partners in express transportation, continue to expand their operation on island, this time teaming up with the MITA Travel Agency.
Beginning today, MITA Travel’s office in Garapan will serve as FedEx’s third drop off station on Saipan.
“We’re very excited about our new partnership with the Guerrero family, who owns MITA Travel. We’re looking forward to build a strong, long-term business relationship with their company,” said CTSI general manager Rene Magalong.
He noted that the opening of the new drop off point would provide more convenience and choices to local residents sending packages anywhere in the world via FedEx.
Aside from its main office at the Saipan International Airport, FedEx currently has two drop-off stations on Saipan: the CTSI office in Lower Base and the CIC Centre on Beach Road.
According to Magalong, MITA Travel is only one of the several drop off stations that CTSI and FedEx are planning to open throughout the island this year. “We’re looking at opening the fourth station later this quarter,” he said.
CTSI has been FedEx’s sales partner on Saipan since 1991.
Magalong disclosed yesterday that plans were underway to expand the partnership between the two companies. FedEx, he said, has offered CTSI Logistics to become its sales partner for the entire Micronesia except on Guam, where FedEx operates its own station.
However, discussions are also being held on the possibility of CTSI taking over FedEx’s clearing and delivery operations on Guam, with FedEx retaining only marketing responsibility.
FedEx, and MITA Travel will celebrate the opening of the new drop off point with a brief ceremony at 9am today.
