Fred Pelisamen leads 25-and-under scoring
Action in the ongoing BANMI 25-and-under Basketball League is heating up, and hotshot Fred Pelisamen of the Ghasias 7-Kings still stands alone on top of the scoring mountain, leading the league as of April 22, 2005.
Known as a scoring threat throughout his young career, Pelisamen continues to torment the opposition, showcasing his skills for a league-best 234 points in seven games for a whopping 33.4 average per outing.
In the final two of the seven games, Pelisamen lit up the scoreboard for 73 points. He had 161 points after five games.
A far second is guard Jason Amado of the league-leading SaipanCell-NMC Hoopaholics, who sports a 20.3 average after knocking down 162 points in eight games, and is one big reason why all games were completed with his team on the winning side.
Ben Pelisamen of 7-Kings, Toyota Prius’ Jeremy Winkfield, Ulloa’s John Sablan, and center Kelvin Fitial of the G-Rollers follow, each punching in scoring sprees of their own.
Pelisamen is the other half of the 7-Kings Dynamic Duo and older brother of Fred and burned the nets for 133 points in seven games for an average of 19 points per game.
Winkfield’s impressive numbers in leading his team to a second-best record feature a total of 132 points in seven outings for an 18.9 average per game, while Sablan and Fitial each saw action in six games and are both nine points over the century mark for an average of 18.2 points, with Sablan tallying most of his points from beyond the 3-point arc and Fitial bulldozing his way in the paint for his bunch.
Meanwhile, John Raymon Ngeskebei of the San Antonio Wildcats remains among the league’s lethal scorers, going off for 84 points in just five games for an average of 16.8 points per game, while Sablan’s teammates Gus Palacios and Josh Sablan cap the leaders, both scoring over 15 points per game.
