Art Deleon Guerrero wins SGA tourney

Art Deleon Guerrero shot the lowest net score Sunday to win the Saipan Golf Association March Ace of the Month Tournament at the Kingfisher Golf Links.

The senior golfer carded a net score of 65 after the 22-handicapper finished with a 43 in the front and 44 in the back for a gross of 87.

Guerrero succeeds Jung Eun Teack after the South Korean won the SGA February Ace tournament.

Deleon Guerrero was followed in the March tourney by John Cepeda and Teack himself with net scores of 70 and 71, respectively. Cepeda recorded a gross score of 85, while Teack came away with an 82.

Rounding out the top five were Luis Cepeda and Joe I. Sablan with identical 72 net scores each. A total of 19 golfers competed in the March competition of SGA.

In the closest to the pin, 17-handicapper Ben Aldan captured holes No. 6 and No. 12, while Tony Deleon Guerrero won No. 8 and No. 15.

The longest drive was won by Rex Palacios with his homerun of a shot on hole No. 2.
