Northern Marianas College board of regents chair Kimberlyn King-Hinds is inviting the public to attend the delivery of the State of the College Address by NMC president Antonio V. Deleon Guerrero on today, April 27 at 10am in the Governor Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe.

The address is purposefully designed to inform the CNMI community about the status of the college and its programs. It will be accompanied by a variety of exhibits and displays by college programs and departments highlighting their course offerings and activities.

The 2005 address will cover Deleon Guerrero’s first year as college president: initially as the acting president following the resignation of Dr. Kenneth Wright in February 2004, and then as president following his appointment by the NMC board last July.

“We welcome all interested individuals to attend this presentation and we want our CNMI community to learn more about our NMC programs and services,” King-Hinds said. “President Deleon Guerrero and the college faculty and staff, with our friends in the administration, Legislature, and community, have successfully addressed some serious concerns, while moving the college forward in its continuing quest to provide quality higher education to the people of the Commonwealth.”

NMC was established in 1981 as a teacher training institute and today it is a comprehensive community college. It offers a diverse range of degrees and certificates, including a bachelor of science degree in Elementary Education, 15 associate degrees, and numerous certificated programs.

Beyond the academic programs, NMC also serves the CNMI community through a variety of continuing education and short-term training programs.

All community stakeholders are invited to learn about NMC’s programs, accomplishments and institutional challenges at this April 27 presentation.
