NMC kicks off Charter Day with fun run
The Northern Marianas College is kicking off its 2005 Charter Day celebrations with a bang, getting things started with an early morning fun run beginning at the establishment’s gymnasium.
The event, dubbed as the NMC Charter Day 5K Fun Run, will be held tomorrow morning with registration beginning as early as 5:30pm at the start-off point.
Participants will then tackle the 5-kilometer course at 6am, running from the gym to the main road before making their way to Shell Marianas Dandan station.
From there, runners will make their way towards the Saipan International School turn-off. Participants will then turn back and head towards the college.
According to NMC’s James Priest, the first 15 individuals to register receive a free T-Shirt.
Meanwhile, Priest said the top male and female winners in the four age categories would also receive prizes.
Categories include 15-and-under, 20-29 (open), 30-39, and 40-and-above. The event is free to all interested individuals.
“Since it is a fun run, walkers, joggers, serious runners, strollers, crawlers and anyone else are welcome to take part,” said NMC’s Kurt Barnes. “So start off Charter Day by working up a sweat and working up an appetite for all the delicious food that will be available during Charter Day.
