WOMAN INJURED IN ASSAULT INCIDENT
A woman sustained serious body injuries after being attacked by another person with a thread cutter.
The Attorney General’s Office filed with the Superior Court Friday criminal charges against 38-year-old Aimiji C. Yoshio for allegedly assaulting Jacquiline Noka on Saipan last Monday.
CNMI chief prosecutor Jeffrey Moots lodged three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon against Yoshio.
Moots said that Yoshio seriously injured Noka with a thread cutter. (John Ravelo)
MAN CHARGED WITH FORGERY
The Attorney General’s Office is accusing a man of forging checks on several occasions to defraud a company of some $2,100.
The AGO filed with the Superior Court Friday criminal charges against Vincent Wabol Kaipat, a 44-year-old Koblerville resident.
CNMI chief prosecutor Jeffrey Moots lodged three forgery counts against Kaipat, accusing the defendant of defrauding Asia Pacific Overseas, Inc. on June 20and 22 and July 4 last year.
In four transactions, Kaipat allegedly defrauded the company in the amounts of $600, $800, and $350 on two occasions. (John Ravelo)
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PUTS MAN IN HOT WATER
A man is in hot water for allegedly striking a woman with an object at the back of her head, the Attorney General’s Office disclosed Friday.
The AGO lodged criminal charges against Darwin Osilek Towai, who turns 37 today. The charges include attempted aggravated assault and battery, assault and battery and disturbing the peace.
Assistant attorney general Jeffrey Warfield said the Towai struck a woman with a “foreign object” at the back of her head last Nov. 12 on Saipan.
Warfield did not specify the object used by Towai in the charging document he filed with the Superior Court Friday. (John Ravelo)
