RGA fundraiser set for June 11
Golf players are being urged to help the islands’ youth baseball program by participating in a fundraising golf tournament set for June 11 at the Coral Ocean Point Resort golf course.
The Refaluwasch Golf Association is organizing the event on behalf of the Saipan and Tinian Little League associations, as proceeds from the tournament will go to purchase trophies, medals, and other mementos for young baseball players that participated in the hardball competitions.
RGA president Jess Wabol also said that money raised from the event would also defray the cost of hosting the Asia-Pacific Regional Little League Tournament on Tinian in the next couple of months.
Wabol also announced that RGA’s May Ace of the Month Tournament would be held on May 14, Saturday, also at the COP.
The score to beat is the net 66 carded by John Mettao last Saturday in RGA’s May Ace of the Month Qualifying Tournament held at the COP.
Wabol reminded members that the club is still entertaining the application of new members. Membership fee is $50, which is the same cost for renewals.
The membership fee covers the period from January to December. The RGA president is also reminding current RGA members to take care of their membership dues as early as possible.
