Several members of the Northern Marianas Dive Operators Association did their part as responsible Ecotourism operators by participating in the DEQ SCUBA Cleanup, part of last month’s Environmental Awareness Week. But they weren’t the only community groups that pitched in to help keep our island clean and beautiful. Most of the people you might have seen by the side of the roads wearing gloves and carrying trash bags on Saturday, April 23, were from government agencies. However, several groups of dedicated community members also showed up for the Island-Wide Cleanup. The Saipan Hash House Harriers actually hiked all the way down to Forbidden Island beach, and climbed back up carrying all of the trash! Nice going, guys! Let’s give a big thank you to all of the community groups that volunteered their free time:

* Saipan Hash House Harriers

* Saipan Stevedore, Inc.
* Girl Scouts

*Japan Saipan Travel Association

*Pacific Islands Club

Keep up the good work!
